Solar Eclipse May 20th 2012

It took me a while to get the settings right.  I kept adjusting my shutter speed and aperture and I still wasn’t having any luck capturing the solar eclipse.  The other problem was I did not have a filter for my camera nor did I have any glasses so I wasn’t sure how my focus was doing.  I kept trying and all I got was this:

so just on a whim I decided to adjust my focus all the way in the other direction and wahlah it finally worked.  Who knew adjusting the focus would be the difference!!!  I just wish I would’ve thought of it earlier!

Frosted Sprinklers

Patrick saw this on the way home from dropping off Ari at school.

All he told me was to grab my camera and go down the street a little bit and take pictures of the frost before it melts.  I was a little skeptical at what I might find, but it was better than I thought….

Peterson Family

We had a lot of fun trying to tackle the weather for these pictures.  It was such a treat to work with the Peterson’s and their little girl has such a cute personality. DSC_0284DSC_0160

Motion Light Photography

We were cruising down the road a couple weekends ago and I decided I’d mess around with my camera to see what I could create.

Using the moon as my light source I attempted at shapes:

and letters:

Using the lights on buildings as my light source and random movement plus the movement of our car:

Window Lighting

I used our sliding glass door as the backdrop for these pictures and metered for the babies faces.  In other words I set my camera to expose for their faces instead of the window.  That basically caused the window to “blow out” of the picture.  I love the way it helps to bring out their cute little faces!!!018-1MCP047-1MCP079-1MCP039-1-3MCP052-1MCP
